FAAC is an AAC audio encoder. More info about AAC can be found on the Knowledge Base. FAAC currently supports MPEG-4 LTP, MAIN and LOW COMPLEXITY object types and MAIN and LOW MPEG-2 object types. It also supports multichannel and gapless encoding.

The latest FAAC source code can be found in the download section.

FAAD2 is the fastest ISO AAC audio decoder available. FAAD2 correctly decodes all MPEG-4 and MPEG-2 MAIN, LC (Low Complexity), HE (High Efficiency), LTP (Long Term Prediction), LD (Low Delay) and ER (Error Resiliency) object type AAC files.

There is a stable version of FAAD2 available, source code can be downloaded on the download page. The advantage of this new library is the lack of copyrighted code written by third parties. Further it is coded much cleaner and will give a much better understanding of the AAC coding algorithms.

FAAD (Deprecated)
FAAD is deprecated since the release of FAAD2. It can only be of interest for some developers since it's license (LGPL) is less restrictive than FAAD2's (GPL).

ID3v2edit is an universal ID3v2 editor. It can add an ID3v2 tag to every file type. It supports batch processing, adding of common frames to all files in a batch and automatic saving.
